Wheel cylinders are components in a drum brake system. Their main purpose is to exert hydraulic pressure from the brake master cylinder onto brake shoes to slow down or stop a vehicle.

Pistons are a hard anodized T6082 aircraft alloy or hardened and centerless ground high carbon content steel.

Sizes range from 12.7 mm to 50.8 mm.

A failing wheel cylinder can make it difficult to near impossible to operate a braking system safely.
